we had a lovely time at Pontins although the cooker and microwave could have done with a clean. when you wanted a shower you had to keep pushing the button to get it back on. The beds were basic and we brought from the shop the covers for the beds and pillows very reasonable. The club was good on the night. We spent a lot of time in the pub the queen Vic. Sunday dinner was nice after we eventually got clean plates. A few hadn't been washed a mix up inn the kitchen. You can't park right by the chalet. So it can be a drag walking to the car. There is disabled access we had a chalet with a bedroom with two single beds and a sofa bed in the lounge. tv in the lounge/dinning room /kitchen. We did have a good time
This was the second time and last time I visit a pontins. This park's entertainment was good but was unable to enjoy it as I was hard to get one of there wobbly table and chairs. Long queue for drinks service slowed down by there only having one card machine. Accommodation was not clean and poorly maintained the fold up bed was uncomfortable. On are last knight we were woken up by fire alarm in the early hours.
Excellent break lots going on. Chalet was clean park itself was a lot tidier than when we were there last time. Entertainment was brilliant. Blue coats were fantastic thanks for a great time
If I had written this review at the start of the holiday I would have been pushed to have awarded 1 star. However playing fair and due to the speed complaints were handled stars have increase. Martin (Operations Manager) was brilliant, straight on the case with full understanding and support, he is definitely an asset at Pontins, as no one else had a clue as to what was occurring or how to appease/happy the customers. The Entertainments Team was very good (sometimes over the top) but very hard working and making every effort to provide a full evening of entertainment. Security were next to useless at the entertainments, just standing in or around the bar area slouching on the bar and railing, no contact or conversation with customers. Only two Bar Staff with large queues and long waiting times. Attendant for arcades was no where to be seen, only to be found in the staff only area with his feet up!!!! Hidden nicely from public view. I was informed that there had been a number of break-ins on site and only 4 weeks to go before the park closes for the winter season, but in my opinion this should not reflect in poor service or falling standards. Bar Staff were even telling me and other customers that they were bored and did not want to be working. As I said at the start, we found loads of maintenance and cleaning issues, but I will not discuss these further as we were immediately moved to other accommodation.
A bit dated but our apartment was clean. A good base for our visits to local sites. The blue coats were good with the children. The entertainment in the evening was good. Blue coat Greg was very friendly. The beach nearby was lovely
